The gateway connects your loggers to the internet
Step 1: Plug the gateway into power
Your gateway comes with a power supply. This is only power supply you should ever use with the unit as incorrect voltages can kill the unit (and void your warranty).
Step 2: Decide how you are going to connect the gateway to the internet
You can connect the gateway to the internet using either an Ethernet cable or Wi‑Fi.
Connect using Ethernet
Ethernet, of course, requires an active Ethernet port where you want to place the gateway. This might mean plugging the gateway directly into your switch or modem, or connecting to a wall socket.
Be aware that in most offices, not all wall sockets are actually “patched” through to the internet.
The amazingly long range of the Clever Alert loggers means you have a great deal of flexibility when deciding where to place the gateway.
How to ...
Connect using Wi‑Fi
Connecting to Wi‑Fi allows you to ditch the Ethernet cable and only worry about connecting the gateway to power.
